I help businesses across New England in two ways. I find where AI will genuinely save time, then set it up and keep it running. And for businesses without anyone senior looking after their technology, I provide part-time IT leadership: a few days a month setting direction, managing suppliers, and keeping an eye on security and spend.

Named for a homestead in the New England tablelands, Saumarez Advisory works close to home — helping businesses across Armidale, Tamworth, Uralla and Guyra cut through the AI hype and apply it where it actually saves time. Many of the businesses I work with also have a bigger gap: they spend real money on technology, but nobody senior owns it. The owner ends up making IT decisions on the side, chasing suppliers and filling in cyber insurance questionnaires. I take that off their plate. Every engagement is led personally, not handed to a bench of juniors — the kind of advisory relationship that compounds over years, not quarters.
About
Global experience, close to home.
My technology career started here in Armidale in 2004. In 2009 I moved to Sydney to join one of the world's largest technology services firms. I spent the next 17 years there, most recently as Director of Alliances for Asia Pacific. That work took me across the region. It put me in the room as businesses of every size worked out what AI could really do for them, and what it couldn't.
One lesson stuck. The businesses that got real value didn't start with the technology. They started with a clear problem, kept the first step small, and brought their people along.
We moved back to Armidale in 2019, in the middle of the drought, and rode out Covid here. We're raising our two boys here. This is home, and it's where I want to do this work.
I work directly with local practices, including accountants, brokers and optometrists. Sometimes that's finding the few places AI will genuinely save time, then getting those working and keeping them running. Sometimes it's being the senior technology person they don't have: owning the roadmap and budget, managing the IT provider and software vendors, and making sure security and backups would hold up if something went wrong.
